Well, I’m old but I’m a newbie. I haven’t been at either meditation and even less insight dialogue for very long. But what it started it really more than anything else was mental illness, deep depression… and of course I realize it’s not just for myself, so silent meditation tends towards less towards, the, you know, the sociology of it… I think insight dialogue really is, well, it’s a complete package because we do not live in isolation, and if we’re going to apply what we learn on the cushion to off the cushion then what better way to do it than through dialogue? And I’ve decided that the divisions in our society resonate with the problems in our head. I think mental illness and political divide are cheek by jowl and for me this is this is an important skill set for community development, which is what I focus on now. Thank you.
