So, I’ve done a lot of silent retreats. I’ve been practicing since I got out of college…so the pattern has always been you go on retreat,  you struggle through it, you get your high at the end, you go back, you go into the office, and maybe half a day back into it you lose it. You lose that feeling of equanimity, the spaciousness… so I’ve always been looking for a way to bring what I’ve learned on the cushion and bridge that into my daily life and interpersonal relations. So, I’ve tried a lot of things of Nonviolent Communication…there was another one too… trends of what these techniques were… and Insight Dialogue was different for me because it brought the experience and the spaciousness that I can experience from time to time… well, it doesn’t even need to be the spaciousness, the hindrances, of being familiar with the hindrances, to bring that awareness into everything, from close relationships to being in the supermarket to work relationships…So I’m starting lately to see more and more of the connection of remembering and then bringing it into daily life. We were exploring on our walk, the exploration of ease that we were doing, and how we can remember what ease feels like and bring it into a difficult situation. So it’s kind of a bridge for me, what I learn, the insights I get on the cushion, bringing it into daily life.
